Episode 2 of the Performance Cycling Podcast:
Today we discuss the LTAD (Long Term Athelte Development) as presented by USACycling. This topic is a series of recommendations outlined in USACycling's Coaches Manual for how to develop a rider from start to finish. It talks about when rider's should focus on certain areas of the sport and how their training and racing will change over time. It's a good discussion for any rider looking to see where to go next with their development and goals.
We also discuss anomalous races. These are races or events where you don't know what happened or why it happened but you had great legs on a certain day and did A LOT better than you thought you would. We ponder the possible causes and talk about our own experiences with incredible races.
